Sport in Australia is a strong growth industry, particularly in the context of professional sports management, sporting organisations and the personal fitness industry. The diversity of sport and recreational organisations, fitness industries, athlete management companies, private sports firms and sports clubs means that there is an increasing demand for professional sports administrators. Degrees in Sports Business are new and focus specifically on sport as a business.
The underpinning discipline and knowledge covered in the Bachelor of Sports Business Degree is based on the sports environment. Core studies incorporate sports Commerce, sports Management and sport and society. These core studies occupy the first two years of the degree program and permit the student to graduate with an Associate Degree in Sports Business.
Third year students can choose to major in Sports Commerce, Sports Marketing or the emerging area of Lifestyle Management.

The Bachelor of Sports Business can be completed with three years of full-time study. A maximum of eight years is allowed for students to complete the degree part-time. The degree program is divided into six semesters, each of 12 weeks teaching duration. Study involves approximately 16 contact hours a week excluding examination and study weeks.
Successful candidates will graduate after three years of study with a Bachelor of Sports Business. The Associate Degree serves as an exit point from the degree after two years with students graduating with an Associate Degree in Sports Business.
