Elite Athlete Friendly

Elite Athletes
ACPE is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Institute of Sport and the New South Wales Institute of Sport as an Elite Athlete Friendly Institution. This recognition is a component of the national Athlete Career and Education (ACE) program. It signifies that ACPE has responded to the specific needs of elite athletes by providing opportunities for athletes to combine their sporting and academic aspirations.
ACPE has staff contact officers who'll work with athletes in balancing their study and sport commitments each semester.
Identifying elite athletes
Athletes who identify themselves as elite are verified through the registration and scholarship processes. Alternatively, the national ACE program will coordinate an internal promotion campaign to identify such athletes. Athletes outside of these organisations may submit an application for recognition as an elite athlete to ACPE.
The national ACE manager will act as a representative from the Australian Sports Commission to investigate, verify and make a recommendation to the College.
In addition, athletes may qualify if they are recognised by one of the following organisations as an elite athlete:
- Australian Institute of Sport.
- State Institutes or Academies of Sport.
- AFL Players' Association.
- Australian Cricketers' Association.
- Rugby Union Players' Association.
- Rugby League Professionals' Association.
- Australian Professional Footballers' Association.
- National senior squad members from Coaching and Athlete Career Education (CACE) supported sports.
- Coach Career Management Program.
- Securing Career opportunities and Professional Employment (SCOPE) Program.
