Orientation

The Orientation program is designed to help ease your transition into college life, helping:
- Familiarise you with your degree program.
- Inform you about the resources and services available on campus.
- Provide you with the opportunity to meet and engage with fellow students.
- Introduce you to the staff and campus facilities.
Counselling
ACPE provides you with access to services that support your personal development, growth and welfare, including a counselling service.

Career guidance
ACPE Student Services is here to help you understand and develop your future career. Student services and our Professional experience office offer you career skills development sessions covering career planning, resumé writing, networking, presentation and communication skills.
Academic skills Development (ADO)
The Academic Development Office provides support for a range of tertiary skills such as essay writing, academic reading, study skills, time-management, and oral presentation skills. We also help students with spelling, grammar and sentence structure.

Student representation
The Student Representative Group (SRG) gives you another opportunity to build your leadership skills. Students are elected to the SRG with the aim to have representatives from each year and each degree.
The SRG is committed to student leadership in encouraging and coordinating student activities. For further information please contact student services.
Social groups
There's a lot going on at ACPE besides study. Student social groups are a great way to meet people outside your normal group through sports events, parties and other events.
University games
Australian university sport allows students around Australia to participate in competitive sport at a Regional, National and International level. We have teams participating in the Eastern University Games, Australian University Championships and the Australian University Games.
Student support
Student Services provides support to students on a daily basis. Student services staff are based on the main campus and will assist you in any way they can.
International student support
We do our best to make international students feel at home. We can also advise you with immigration, visa and health insurance procedures, administrative and fee advice, welfare and social activities. Just contact the registrars office and /or student services.
The Cost of living in Sydney
The cost of living in Sydney depends on your lifestyle and the suburb in which you live. On average, a student in Sydney will spend at least AU$320 per week on accommodation, food, transport, clothing, entertainment etc.
Accommodation
Most students in Sydney will live locally with family, use home stay accommodation or rent share accommodation.

Home stay accommodation costs around AU$135 - AU$185 per week on average. If you plan to rent in Sydney, make sure you allow for a rental bond equal to 4 to 6 weeks rent. Weekly rental costs vary with location and quality. Rental rates may range from AU$100 to AU$250 per week. You'll also find hostel accommodation from AU$100 to AU$200 per week.
Utilities (electricity, gas, water etc) will cost you about AU$10 per week plus connection fees if you are renting on your own.
Travel Costs
We're a short walk from both the train station and bus stops. Parking is available on-site and nearby for AU$150 per semester. If you are travelling by public transport you should allow at least AU$25 - AU$60 each week
