About ACPE

The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) is a specialist, independent tertiary institution, founded in 1917.  It has an historical connection to the Swords Club and this connection has been maintained through the College emblem.

ACPE was originally established as a physical education training institution for young women.  The College today is co-educational and caters for graduates who are pursuing a variety of sports careers, offering a full degree program in sports education with access to world class sporting facilities and using the latest teaching techniques.

 ACPE graduates can be found working throughout Australia and in many other countries. Graduates are working in a wide variety of positions in sports related fields including:

  • As teachers government and independent schools;
  • As officers in government departments of sport and recreation;
  • In local government recreation centres and in private fitness clubs;
  • As coaches and/or trainers of sporting teams, associations and clubs; and
  • In sport management, sport marketing and event management companies.

The College campus is located in the geographical heart of Sydney at Sydney Olympic Park, home of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.  Its location ensures that all students have access to transport facilities and exceptional sporting resources such as the Sydney International Tennis Centre, the Sydney International Athletics Track and the Sydney International Aquatic Centre.
