We must stay alert on roads
THE I promise road safety campaign has helped drive the 2010 road toll below last years level but police are warning that complacency could mean death this long weekend. On March 18 when The Daily Telegraph began the I promise campaign, the road toll was 16 higher than the same time last year. Latest police figures reveal the toll this year stands at 200 as of midnight Wednesday, four below the same time in 2009.

ACPE at the Central Coast
ACPE and the Department of Education and Training have formed a partnership to run 'Come and Try' days, these are sports days for students with disabilities. This partnership was established in 2008 and was developed through the ACPE unit: Learning and Teaching: Students with Special needs, as there is limited in-service training in disability sports and physical activity for teachers and teachers aides.

The pair participated in Sunday's wheelchair rugby league exhibition match, which was staged to promote awareness on behalf of Northcott Disability Services

Full speed ahead for Lincoln-Smith
ACPE congratulates Emma Lincoln-Smith on her selection in the Australian Winter Olympic team in the Skeleton event for the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics, February 12-28. These will be Emma's first Olympic Games. Emma is currently in her 4th year at ACPE studying a Bachelor of Education (Physical and Health Education).

The college primary method of selecting students is not the ATAR.
ACPE uses an average of your individual HSC marks to determine entry, with a score of 65 required. Students with a HSC average below 65 can still gain admission via a Deans Assessment which may include clauses on your acceptance into ACPE.

Attitude, not uni, key to a job

EMPLOYERS claim they do not care which university a new recruit went to, they want a positive attitude instead.
A survey of 500 chief executives found few (0.7 per cent) were swayed by a prestigious university when hiring a graduate. It ranked last among hiring factors. Degree results (5.3 per cent) also failed to impress those polled by the Australian Industry Group and Deloitte.

Novartis Oncology Sponsor the AUGs Team
Novartis Oncology have jumped on board to sponsor the ACPE Australian University Games team as they aim to raise funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The Australian University Games (AUGs) this year is being held in Queensland and ACPE have over 200 students competing in 15 sports.
