Heather Jackson

ACPE GRADUATE Heather Jackson is not holding back when it comes to life. She is currently the Executive Officer and General Manager for the NSW Women's Bowling Association (NSWBA). Heather also sits on the board of directors for Women in Sport, and if that isn't enough, Heather is also working towards completing her Masters in Business and Technology.

When asked how ACPE has helped her prepare and achieve employment success- Heather responded, "Research Analysis helped me to develop and properly use other resources to my benefit. My practical work within Coogee Bay Primary and SCADS proved to be invaluable." Heather also states that, "The amount of knowledge and skill that is transferred between degrees is endless. Just because you have an Education degree doesn't limit you within that department... there are so many opportunities that will arise where the skills are transferable."

Since Heather's arrival the NSW Women's Bowling Association has undergone an operations face-lift. One in particular: The target age of a bowler. Traditionally, NSWBA catered to the older, more senior age group. Now, with 548 clubs and over 29,000 members in NSW, Heather is focused on the 25 to 55 year old bracket. The original all white uniforms have been replaced with vibrant colours to attract younger athletes. Solid tradition and mature culture dating back over a hundred years makes this particular sport one of the oldest in Australia.
