I completed my fourth year Bachelor of Education degree at ACPE last year. After completing my Bachelor of Physical and Health Education I was awarded the College medal for the class graduating in 2004 and was recruited for the position that I am currently employed in at Reddam House Private School, in Woollahra.
This is my second year teaching at Reddam House and I hold the position of Junior Sports Coordinator. This position provides me with diverse and challenging tasks. In my role the expectations spread much further than teaching classs K-6. I am also responsible for organising all sporting activities for K-6, introducing new programs for K-2, organising all junior school sporting events and carnivals and running and organising Saturday sport.
Whilst my weeks are particularly busy and I face several challenges, it is rewarding to know that second year out of ACPE I am already capable of doing this position. I am a particularly ambitious individual, however I do credit a big portion of that success to the high standard of education and training that I gained from ACPE. Not only was the standard of schooling particularly high and the knowledge and passion of the lecturers very motivating, ACPE have continued that support 2 years after my graduation. ACPE have encouraged an ongoing relationship between myself and them and we have maintained a close connection that provides a network and benefits for both me and the college. ACPE have provided me with students to assist at carnivals and sporting events, lecturers have continued their advice and professional guidance, when positions become available I turn to ACPE for graduates for both teaching and coaching positions. I have also been happy to accept Practicum students into Reddam House and assist in any way possible.
Throughout this time as a PDHPE teacher I have continued to play NSW Premier League soccer.
