That is over 15 years of schooling together- side by side. This unique friendship driven by common goals and a love for sport has led them to study at ACPE. Embarking on a Bachelor of Education degree together, they also excel in their chosen sports. Wendel is a stand-out first grade cricketer for Fairfield-Liverpool and his long time friend, Leon is an outstanding Rugby League player at Cabramatta Rugby Leagues. The best thing about ACPE is it gave me the flexibility to combine my study with my professional football commitments. Being part of the ACT Brumbies Super 12 team required me to live between Sydney and Canberra. Through consultation with my lecturers ACPE was able to develop a program that allowed me to finish my degree and continue with my rugby career.
The degree at ACPE allowed me to develop core business skills in areas such as accounting, finance and marketing. Also during my degree I was able to gain valuable work experience with Horton Ella Management. I feel confident that ACPE has armed me with the necessary skills to succeed in business after my football career ends.

ACPE gave me the platform that has helped me achieve my goal of becoming a sports professional. ACPE provided a fantastic blend between face-to-face learning along with practical work place learning that is hard to find at other institutions. It is this workplace and industry experience along with skills learnt through my studies that enabled me to gain employment with Titan Management in the player management industry. Presently at Titan we are managing high profile sports people such as cricketers as Glen McGrath and Phil Jacques. We also manage rugby league players such as Anthony Minacello and Andrew Ryan.
Contacts I made with teachers and fellow students at ACPE are tools that assist me in my day-to-day dealings, helping me to stay on top of my game and to continue to be successful in the sports management industry. I have no hesitation in stating that without ACPE I would not be where I am today. I would recommend ACPE to anyone wishing to gain a degree and employment within the business of sport.
