Information Literacy Skills Training
The library is committed to providing Information Literacy Skills sessions to support and enable staff and students to effectively identify, locate and retrieve information for research, teaching and study needs. Training sessions for all first year students are included in the academic timetable and these sessions are compulsory. Database training sessions are also scheduled throughout the year as refresher courses for continuing students.
Academic staff may also request the library to run a database tutorial in association with a specific unit of study. Students will be advised of any tutorial session in class.
Information Technology Skills Training
The goal of the library's Information Technology Skills Training is to provide students with those computer skills of most use to them in their studies. Currently, training covers two areas – Microsoft Office and website creation.
