Note: ACPE is no longer taking enrolments into the Bachelor of Sports Coaching and Administration. This degree has been re-accredited, with the first intake into our new qualification due in March of 2018.
The course offers a unique mix of coaching, sport science and business subjects, along with a variety of generic professional skills.
More than being simply knowledge-based, the course incorporates a strong problem-solving focus. The result is a flexible foundation upon which students build the key competencies appropriate to highly successful sports coaches and strength and conditioning specialists.
Classes are taught by experts who are highly trained in their fields and who bring their own industry experience to help provide context to theoretical and practical subjects.
To balance the theory portion and enhance the learning experience, students attend practical classes. This will provide further opportunities for mastery of subject material and assist with development of practical application of the theory in each unit of study.
While some subjects require mid-term and final exams, assessments may also comprise online quiz questions, essay writing and tutorial presentations. Students enrolled in an online subject sit their final exam at the College or, if they live at a distance, under external supervision.
The Bachelor of Sports Coaching (Strength & Conditioning) can be completed in three years of full-time study. A maximum of eight years is allowed for students to complete the degree part-time. The course program is divided into six semesters, each of 12 weeks duration. Study involves approximately 16 contact hours a week (excluding examination and study weeks).
With employment opportunities almost doubling for Sports Coaches and Specialist Managers, the future looks bright for our graduates. It doesn’t matter where your passion for sport takes you, as your qualification from ACPE will help make your dreams a reality.
