Do you have what it takes to be an Online Learner?

Do you have personal or professional demands which require you to study at a time and pace that suits you? Are the kind of person who doesn't need a structured classroom setting to feel motivated? If you have answered yes to either of these questions, then Online Learning is the perfect way for you to study the course of your dreams - without having to committing to on-campus classes!

When you choose to study a course online, every subject and its assessment tasks are submitted electronically. All you need is access to a computer and a strong internet connection and you are good to go!

Below you will find the minimum computer system requirements needed for you to access the ACPE Study Smart system:

  • Windows, Mac OS X, Linux
  • Internet Explorer 7+, Safari, Firefox, Chrome browser
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Adobe Flash Player 10.3+. Visit the Adobe website to get the latest version
  • Ideally you should have access to Broadband - 64 Kbit/sec or faster.

You will also need to ensure that your browser has enabled cookies and that you have disabled your popup blocking software (some Study Smart courses require popups). If you have any questions about the computer requirements you need to access ACPE Study Smart or if you need additional IT support, just contact us.

Will I still receive the same experience when I study a course online?

Yes you will! This is one of the most common questions that we get asked about Online Learning at ACPE.

All of the courses that are available online are covered by exactly the SAME support services as you will receive when studying in a classroom. The only difference - the flexibility you have to complete your course when and where you want. Student support services are a key area of focus at ACPE and as such are available to all students, regardless of whether they study online or on-campus.

How does the Online Learning Induction Process work?

Before you begin your first online class, the Online Learning Support team will call and induct you into your first nominated online subject. They will confirm with you that you have received all the online course materials while providing you with the access you need to access:

  • Your first subjects on Study Smart
  • Your student webmail
  • Student Forums
  • Live Chat
  • Various other communication technologies

How do I access my online facilitator?

Each subject has a dedicated online facilitator who is an expert in that subject's field of study.

There are a number of ways in which you can contact your facilitator, including via email and instant messaging. These facilitators are always there to provide you with the study support you need, while helping you to work through your study materials. They are also there to give you advice and to support you completing the assessment items.
